Weaverham is a large village situated just south of the River Weaver. It is called home by 6,000 residents. Weaverham has an extensive history to which some still cannot agree upon. Evidence of Weaverham around the 11th Century came from the ‘Domesday Book’ published in 1086 originally compiled for William I. This historic settlement was considered one of the most important in Cheshire, levelled with Nantwich and Chester. Weaverham fell victim to William I’s ‘Harrying of the North’ as his armies marched into Chester destroying as much as they could.
